Police in Windsor are investigating a serious crash that shut-down a section of I-91 for a short time.Early Saturday morning, both sides of I-91 between exits 40 and 42 were closed for awhile before the highway was re-opened. A lifestar helicopter was called to the scene and took one person to the hospital.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Fatal Car Accident
Police have charged 19-year-old Clinton resident Dennis Knapp with the death of a young Madison woman who was killed in a violent car crash early Saturday morning. Knapp, 19, of North High St., is charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol. He faces up to 10 years in prison on the manslaughter charge.?
The police have not disclosed, and it is unknown if the police know, where and how?the minor got the alcohol that he drank.?
Motorcyclist Killed In Crash – Connecticut
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Cheshire on Sunday.?Police responded to the crash on South Meriden Road near Cheshire Street at about noon. According to police reports, a car exiting a nearby parking lot struck the motorcyclist.? It is unknown if the motorcyclist was wearing an helmet.

In the fatal crash that led to an arrest yesterday as reported in this blog, the judge in the case has set a $3 million dollar bail on the defendant. The defendant is charged with second-degree manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating while under suspension, failure to keep right and failure to wear a seat belt. Incredibly, this defendant has 3 previous DUI convictions and had served prison time for the convictions. He was also driving with a suspended license. The man he killed was a father of five.

Connecticut state police arrested a man in a fatal collision in Mansfield on New Year’s Day.
Police have charged Michael Knybel Jr., 39, of Stafford Springs, with manslaughter with a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating under suspension and drunken driving. Darren Fegan, 32, of Mansfield, was killed when his sport utility vehicle was hit head-on by the pick-up truck that Michael Knybel was driving intoxicated.
